Thrifty promotes wild card deal
Posted on: October 17th, 2007 by Jean AdamsMost of the time, a gamble involves the risk of losing. Nevertheless, with Thrifty’s ‘wild car’ promotional, the risk normally associated when playing a wild card is factored out of the equation. Clients who are interested in renting a midsize vehicle for a family of up to five are encouraged to select the ‘wild car’ option. This simply means that rather than choosing a specific car, or even a category, the renter will simply proceed to the selected rental outlet at the time of pick-up and receive a midsize car, or a larger vehicle for a bargain price. Whichever vehicle the renter is given on the spot will cost less than the regular price of a midsize car rental and will be large enough to comfortably accommodate five individuals and two pieces of luggage in the trunk. The car that one finally receives may be a midsize vehicle, as requested, an SUV or a mini-van. Either way, the price will be lower than what one would normally pay for any of these categories.
All cars, despite their size, are designed to be as fuel efficient as possible, so even if one receives a larger vehicle than originally requested, the price of filling up should not be significantly more expensive. Wild car vehicles must be booked through Thrifty’s main
US website and when selecting a category at the time of reservation, renters should indicate ‘wild car’ in the appropriate field.
Dollar-Thrifty is among the top five rental companies in the world, as it operates over 1,000 outlets and is present in 68 countries, with an especially dense network of locations in the US, Canada and Europe.
