Thrifty sets up new outlet at the Raleigh-Durham Airport
Posted on: October 10th, 2007 by Kate PooleThrifty Car Rental, one of the major car hire chains in the United States, has confirmed that it will be setting up a new outlet at the
Raleigh-Durham
Airport, located in
Wake County, North Carolina. Thrifty explained its decision by noting that the airport has seen a steady rise in passenger traffic, with 6% more travelers passing through thus far this year, when compared to statistics from the same period in 2006. According to the most recent projections, Raleigh-Durham expects more than five million people to arrive to, or depart from the airport by the end of this year.
The new Thrifty outlet aims to be convenient for all types of travelers, arriving at just about any time of the day. As such, the branch will begin operations early each morning, from 4:30am (which may appeal to business travelers), and will stay open until midnight, every day of the week. Nearly 70% of Thrifty’s customers at this airport location, however, will actually be leisurely passengers according to the car rental company’s own expectations, with the remaining 30% likely to form a mix of businesspeople from small and large corporations alike. All classes of cars will be offered at the new Thrifty location, with a range of economy, compact, full-size and luxury vehicles available. The majority of the fleet will be comprised of Chrysler cars and there will be several SUVs available for larger families. The opening of the airport location will precede the planned inauguration of another North Carolina outlet, expected to be in
Raleigh’s city centre.
