Top hotel chain to increase Mexican presence

Marriott International is set to triple its hotel offerings in Mexico after agreeing to develop 36 Fairfield Inn & Suites with Pulso Hotelero. This agreement has been signed and it will be the Marriott’s biggest multi-unit development to date. Marriott’s Fairfield Inn & Suites and aimed at those travelling on a mid-range budget making them affordable to the majority. They are the chains first brand aimed at such a level to be built outside of the US.

The global portfolio of the successful hotelier company ranges from moderate prices to luxury options with names such as Courtyard by Marriott, JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts, The Ritz-Carlton, Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Residence Inn and Marriott Executive Apartments and Renaissance Hotels well known around the world. Global growth is a top priority to the company and currently one third of the Marriott’s development is taking place outside of the US. The new brand in Mexico will be aimed at hose looking for good value for money breaks and the country is continually growing as a tourist destination.

The Marriott chain has actually had a presence in Mexico for many years providing more luxury lodgings than the new Fairfield Inn & Suites and the new development will allow the company to cover a wider spectrum of trade with prices to suit everyone. The new franchise properties will be completed in the next 10 years with the first two opening in 2011. These will be a 139-room hotel in Guadalajara and a 120-room hotel located in Cabo San Lucas.
