Travel company offers sun bed bookings to Germans

Thomas Cook is giving Germans the opportunity to reserve their sun beds ahead of travelling for a small fee. People from Germany are notorious for being early risers and annoying other holidaymakers by claiming their sun loungers by placing their towels or belongings on them and then disappearing for hours before returning to their ‘claimed’ bed.

For only €3 per day, anyone from Germany who books a Mediterranean package holiday through Thomas Cook will be able to reserves an umbrella as well as a lounger. Thomas Cook has nine hotels that are taking part in the programme that has been described as a bid by Thomas Cook to stop sun bed wars between the Germans and the rest of the world while on holiday.

“Thomas Cook Group is an international company, operating in 21 countries across the world. Each business markets itself to its own customers to provide quality products and services to give them the best holiday possible,” commented a spokesperson for Thomas Cook.

Thomas Cook handle holidays to 21 destinations around the world and they defended their decision, made by the German branch of the company, by claiming that they market business different in other countries depending on what is deemed important to the holidaymakers.
