Travelers offered Tasmanian car hire, flight & hotel package
Posted on: January 2nd, 2008 by Hannah WestfieldTourists interested in visiting Tasmania, Australia’s smallest state, are currently being offered a unique travel package deal, including airfare, a car rental and hotel accommodation. The special is geared towards American travelers flying to Australia from Los Angeles. For a total of $1,679, travelers receive a roundtrip air ticket, five nights of accommodation and a car rental package for five days. The deal is valid in May 2008, as well as for travel in early June, late July or in September. Those who prefer to travel in February or March will have to pay an additional $500 and while it is possible to fly from Las Vegas and Seattle, this will add between $220 and $250 to the price of the package.
All car rentals in Tasmania are provided by Hertz. The vehicles are mid-size and they come with automatic transmission and unlimited mileage. Car hire insurance, however, is extra and costs approximately US$23 (or A$26) per day. All bookings must be made by 30 June 2008 and reservations may be arranged online at www.atstours.com or via the ATS Tours call centre, by phoning 888/781-5170. This package deal is ideal for couples or double occupants, as those traveling alone will be asked to pay a $600 supplement. The package includes accommodation at a hotel, as well as all applicable taxes, but breakfast is extra. When analyzed closer, the package provides customers hotel accommodation for less than $100 per day. Clients start off their trip with two nights at the Mercure Hotel, located in Hobart, Australia.
