London has a lot to be proud of when it comes to the hotels the city has to offer. In fact, TripAdvisor just released its list of top 10 European hotels. Multiple hotels on this list were located in London. One was even rated on the list of best hotels in the world.
The top London hotel was Ampersand Hotel. This is a hotel that is located in London’s gorgeous museum district. Overall, this hotel was able to place second in TripAdvisor’s top 10 European hotels. It was even able to come in eight among TripAdvisor’s top 10 hotels in the world.
The chief marketing officer for TripAdvisor, Barbara Messing, said that the company has spent a lot of time looking all over Europe to find the best hotels. The hotels that it found made a very lasting impression not only on the staff at TripAdvisor but on the community as a whole. In order to make the list, the hotels were looked at from the time they first opened their doors until the present day. There are a number of great hotels that did not make the list, but these are the best of the best.
The best hotel in all of Europe was the Kempinski Hotel in Cathedral Square in Vilnius, Lithuania. This hotel has a proven track record and always receives great feedback from its guests. Although it was able to beat out Ampersand Hotel for the top spot in Europe, it was not able to claim the top spot in the world. The best hotel in the world title went to Hotel San Agustin in Cartagena, Colombia. This hotel has proven to be the best of the best.
Other notable hotels in London that made the top 10 European list include the InterContinental London Westminster hotel and the Cafe Royal. These hotels placed fourth and seventh on the list respectively. Total, this put three London hotels in the top 10 list of best hotels in all of Europe. As far as best hotels in the world, London did not fare as good. It received only one spot, which was taken by the Ampersand Hotel. Either way, it is great to see a hotel in London make it into the top 10 hotels in the world.
TripAdvisor has posted this list of great hotels in the hopes to get people travelling again. Although the travel market is starting to pick back up, things are far from great. The travel industry is still looking to bounce back from the economic downfall that lasted for years. The problem is that most travellers want to save money on travel. This puts a number of these big name hotels out in the cold as people look for cheaper alternatives.
The good news is that the global economy is starting to get back on track, and with it, so are people’s desires to travel. For now, however, cheap hotels and budget airlines are the ones enjoying the boost in travellers.
