TV host jets abroad after British holiday show
Posted on: August 26th, 2009 by Robert BergersonOne of the stars of the Dragon’s Den, Duncan Bannatyne, is filming a new show that is all about encouraging Brits to holiday at home and put some much needed money into the UK tourism economy.
After his latest stint in Felixstowe he spoke to the East Anglian Daily Times and was quoted as saying, “people should be holidaying here instead of going abroad.” The 60-year-old who has a string of health clubs up and down the country added that he is “all for holidays at home” as it would help tourism in the UK.
However eagle eyed social networkers have noted an abnormality in his statement to the press and what his Twitter page is saying. According to his updates he has been flying to and from his villa in the south of France while filming the British holiday programme.
His blogs have caught him out and are saying he has been holidaying on and off since 10th July and has attended firework displays, dined at a friend’s houses with the family and had an aqua aerobics sessions in his swimming pool.
Bannatyne defended his jet setting as he said he had bought the villa before the recession and had actually foregone some of his summer down there to come back and film a show that promotes British holidays. The show is due to be aired in the New Year on Virgin 1.
