Two Teen Girls Killed After Being Hit by Car

Police Line Do Not CrossPolice have arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of murder. He is being accused of hitting two teenage girls with a car early Sunday morning. One girl was 14-year-old Jasmine Allsop, and the other was 16-year-old Olivia Lewry. Jasmine died at the scene, while the other girl died after being rushed to the hospital.

According to police, the accident happened around 4:15 a.m. in Hampshire. The police say that the two girls were simply trying to cross the road close to where one of the girls lived. While trying to cross the road, they were hit by a green Honda Civic, which was speeding. The police did say that the two girls were on their way home from a party.

The police arrested the man at the scene on suspicion of killing the two girls by driving dangerously. Afterward, the detectives were able to launch a full investigation into the murder. The detectives are in the process of getting statements from witnesses.

Dick Pearson, who is one of the detectives on the case said that this is an extremely tragic event. It has resulted in the death of two girls. He and his team are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the events that lead to the death of these two girls. Road collision investigators are on the job. Pearson added that he wants anyone with information to please contact his team right away.

Nineteen-year-old Damien Bannon, who knew both of the girls, said that he was talking to Jasmine’s brother that morning. He was very angry and distraught about the whole thing. He was extremely protective of his younger sister. The accident happened right outside Jasmine’s house, so that just made it worse.

Bannon added that he believed that the two girls had been at a party. They were simply standing outside the house and talking. When they went to cross the street, they were hit by a car. Unfortunately, the driver of the car was a friend of the girls. Maybe he was trying to show off for them. It was his mother who woke him up and told him the news. He still cannot believe that it happened.

The police say that safety on the street is one of the key things that they want to focus on. They believe that dangerous drivers are a growing problem all over the UK. Other police, however, also feel that these young girls should not have been coming home from a party that early in the morning. They should have already been at home and in bed before 4 a.m. Either way, it still does not excuse the driver from running over both of them.

Keeping the motorways safe in the UK is something that local governments around the country have been focusing on as well. This latest accident is just going to add more fuel to this fire. Also, since the people involved in this accident were so young, governments will likely focus on the driving skills of teens in the UK.
