US couple found with hundreds of stolen luggage bags

Police in Phoenix have been trying to solve the case of missing luggage at their Shy Harbor Airport. Over a while an unusual amount of luggage has been reported missing after people have landed at Arizona airport. Reports were filed with the airlines, but the luggage was never recovered. About three weeks ago Keith King was spotted arriving at the airport and taking a piece of baggage which did not belong to him. Police arrested him at the airport car park, but this was not enough to deter the luggage thief.

On Monday of last week the same man was spotted arriving at the airport where he then proceeded to head for the luggage carousels. Police followed King’s movements back to his car with yet another article of luggage that did not belong to him. The authorities then tailed him to his home on the edge of the city where they then executed a search warrant.

Upon entering the premises they were shocked to find what they estimated to be around 1,000 suitcases and bags which they believed were stolen on similar trips to the airport. King and his wife, Stacy, were arrested on the spot while police attempted to identify the luggage they had found. They had interviewed neighbours of the pair who commented how every weekend the couple would have yard sales and there were always suitcases being sold which seemed unusual. The pair are now facing charges of theft and burglary while the police try and find the rightful owners of hoards of the goods.
