Victoria Beckham Nominated for Designer Brand of the Year Award

The popular fashion brand designed by Victoria Beckham has been nominated for the 2010 British Fashion Awards. This is her first-ever appearance in the nominations and has been selected as one of the 4 to get the Designer Brand of the Year Award. Others that have been nominated for the award include Pringle, Burberry and Mulberry.

This nomination indicates how serious the former Spice Girls star is about designing for the international fashion industry. The 36-year-old launched her label in New York only 2 years ago, and her clientele of celebrities around the globe continues to grow. Her gowns and dresses have been worn on the red carpet by stars like Madonna, Demi Moore, Cameron Diaz, Heidi Klum, Jennifer Lopez and more.

The designers who have been nominated for Designer of the Year, which is the Oscar of the fashion world, include Erdem, Phoebe Philo and Christopher Kane. British Fashion Council chairman Harold Tillman said that the diverse nominees are a reflection of great vision and range of talent among British designers. The winners will be announced at the British Fashion Awards on December 7. Here is a list of the other nominees:

– Isabella Blow Fashion Creator Award: photographer Rankin, Nicola Formichetti and Nick Knight of ShowStudio
