Virgin Atlantic has announced that it plans to encourage more of its passengers to take advantage of the online check-in facilities it offers.
The carrier will be offering a £10 discount applicable to onboard purchases for passengers that check-in online for flights that depart from Gatwick, Heathrow and Manchester airports.
For those passengers flying from Gatwick and Heathrow, vouchers will also be issued for use at duty-free outlets in Gatwick’s South Terminal and in Heathrow’s Terminal 3.
“We hope that this promotion will encourage passengers to check-in online before their trip as it means that on arrival at the airport, they simply hand over their luggage at the ‘Bag Drop’ desk and go straight through security, making the whole process much quicker and stress free for them,” said Paul Dickinson, Virgin Atlantic’s sales and marketing director.
These incentives follow a similar initiative that was launched earlier in the year. During March and April, Virgin offered £6 vouchers good for onboard purchases totalling more than £30, for passengers who checked-in for their flights online.
Virgin Atlantic passengers flying from London’s Heathrow Airport will have new flights to choose from in the near future. The carrier will be adding flights to Hong Kong three times per week, beginning in October, increasing to daily departures by December.
