VisitBritain Joins forces with airlines to promotes UK cities

In a brand new advertising campaign by VisitBritain they have successfully joined forces with Easyjet and British Airways in promoting a number of cities across the UK. The new campaign will follow on from the 2009 effort in which ten major cities were highlighted for special attention. Birmingham, Bristol Cardiff, Edinburgh, Newcastle-Gateshead, Glasgow, London, Liverpool, Manchester, and Oxford are the places that will be subject to an extra boost of publicity from VisitBritain. They will emphasise travel to these places and the list the different great things about each place, particularly highlighting the culture of the selected areas as well how to get to and around them.

With the current travel market as bad as it was last year, with many holidaymakers choosing to stay at home, it is hoped that the weak pound will encourage more travel to British shores in 2010. The euro is doing alarmingly well against the pound and other foreign currencies and is expected there will be an influx of European this year who will take advantage of the low rates. Many people love to come to the UK to experience some of the great shopping available across the country. London is famed over the world for its fantastic shopping and with the sales that you can find almost all-year-round it is a great pull to foreign tourists. Budget airlines like Easyjet and Ryanair also help largely with bringing foreigners to the UK because of their cheap flights.
