WestJet offers 40% off on tickets
Posted on: January 2nd, 2008 by Samantha WilliamsWestJet, Canada’s second largest airline, is offering 40% off on airline tickets for travel within North America, for all those who arrange their reservation by January 8, 2008. The trip must occur between January 9th and March 5th and passengers may choose from over a dozen points of departure, including Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, Hamilton, London (Ontario), Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver. The 40% discount is applied to the lowest rates listed on WestJet’s website. For example, tickets from Toronto to Vancouver start at $214, while a roundtrip costs approximately $523, including taxes. Short-haul trips between Toronto and Montreal start at only $59 each way and all-inclusive return airfare between Canada’s two largest urban centers stands at approximately $215.
Passengers who also hold an Air Miles card should be sure to key in the account number when prompted at the time of online reservation. WestJet awards all Air Miles members one point for every $20 they spend. The carrier also allows those who have accumulated the adequate number of points to trade them in for a free WestJet ticket, to destinations in Canada and the United States.
The 40% discount is only one of a handful of New Year specials at WestJet. The carrier’s tours and vacation package wing—WestJet Vacations—is offering a range of discounts on popular sun destinations. For example, a seven night stay in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, at a 3.5 star hotel costs $892. The package includes the airfare, hotel accommodation and all applicable taxes.
