What to Expect At This Year’s E3 Event

E3 LogoAs far as electronics go, there is no event that is as big as E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo). Well this year’s E3 is fast approaching, and it has a lot of people wondering what they should expect to see. According to reports, this year’s E3 is going to be bigger than most, with many big name games being announced and at least one company announcing a brand new system.

The biggest news by far for this year’s E3 is Nintendo’s brand new system. The company has already announced that they will be showing off their new system (codename Project Cafe) at this year’s event. Not only that, but the system will also be playable. This means that games have already been made for the system and people will get to see firsthand what this new HD system is capable of.

More than likely, people have already heard about this news, so what else can people expect to see at this year’s expo? There are a number of big name games that are expected to be demoed at the show. This includes such titles as: Half-Life 3, Resistance 2, Borderlands 2, Grand Theft Auto 5, Bioshock Infinite, Assassin’s Creed 3, Halo 4, Diablo 3, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, Madden NFL 12, Uncharted 3, Soul Califbur 5 and Street Fighter vs Tekken.

Now that is a pretty impressive lineup of games, but there are some companies that will be showing off more than normal. This includes well-known game developer Natsume. Apparently at this year’s expo, they will be showing up their huge lineup of games, which does include Harvest Moon: Tale of Two Towns (3DS and DS), Reel Fishing Paradise (3DS) and Gabrielle’s Ghostly Groove (3DS).

Of course, those are not the Natsume games that most people will be looking for. It is also rumored that this year they are going to show off the North American version of Rune Factory Oceans. This is a game that will be coming out for both PS3 and Wii. This Rune Factory game was made in partnership with none other than Marvelous Entertainment, which has a great track recorded for making games.

Gaming experts are saying that there are a few companies that need to make a big splash at this year’s E3. One of those companies is now Sony, who has found itself in hot water over its PlayStation Network security breach. Experts say that consumer confidence in Sony has been smashed by this latest mishap, and the company needs to “wow” the crowd.

Although Sony is expected to show off some more information about their NPG, which is their next hand held device to replace its PSP, that may not be enough. This is because the NPG will no longer be released outside of Japan this year after production was interrupted by the Japan earthquake. It seems like Sony just cannot catch a break.

As for Microsoft, experts expect the company to show off something involving its Kinect add-on for the 360. Although the add-on has sold good, the company needs to prove to people that it is well worth the investment, while showing others who have not bought it that they want it.
