Travel operator Wings Abroad, which specializes in Turkish holidays, has announced that it is raising capacity for the summer of 2009, adding another 5,000 holidays to its current 10,000 on offer.
It has also stated that it will begin next year’s summer season in early May and that it will run through the end of October.
Some of the added capacity will include holidays in the Antalya region, where Wings Abroad is featuring the resorts of Kundu and Lara for the first time.
At selected hotels, the travel operator is offering free places for children, discounts of up to £150 for early booking and two weeks at the price of one week during shoulder months.
Agents are offered commissions of 13 per cent, and the average holiday price has increased between 4-5 per cent over last year to cover the rise in fuel costs.
Wings Abroad features departures from Bristol, East Midlands, Gatwick, Glasgow, Manchester and Newcastle to Turkey’s coastal resorts.
The company’s sales manager for the UK, Chris Mansell, said: “This summer has been the best yet. In light of such a good year and strong indications of a continuing high demand for Turkey, we are adding 5,000 capacity for 2009 to bring the total to just above 15,000.”
He added: “A key factor in our success this year has been the ability to offer such a wide range of all inclusive deals – there is a strong demand for this type of holiday where everything is included in the cost, particularly in the current economic climate.”
