Air Southwest will be flying into Grenoble Airport during the upcoming winter ski season, as authorities at the Chambery Airport indicated that they expected traffic problems.
The new flights to Grenoble will follow a previous timetable, creating a flight schedule that is better suited to ski enthusiasts travelling to and from the area resorts. The Grenoble facility is also less prone to delays during busy periods.
Air Southwest has said it will contact all passengers who have pre-booked seats for winter season who are affected by the change of destination airport. The airline will also provide information to affected travellers so that they are able to make alternative arrangements to avoid disruption in travel plans.
The carrier has also made arrangements for passengers that have pre-booked car hire services.
Three regions are in close proximity to the Grenoble Airport, including Isere for Alpe D’Huez and Les Deux Alpes, Haute-Savoie for Chamonix and Morzine and Savoie for La Plagne, Meribel and Val Thorens.
Air Southwest is owned by the Sutton Harbour Group, and has operated regional services in the UK and Ireland since 2003. The carrier’s scheduled services include frequent flights from Bristol, Newquay and Plymouth airports to various destinations in the UK, Ireland and the Channel Islands.
