Wizz Air’s Increased Service to Poland
Posted on: March 23rd, 2008 by Jean AdamsWizz Air has recently announced an increase in the number of flights to Poland. The decision was made after the declaration by Centralwings airline to discontinue their eight flights to Poland. Wizz Air is headquartered in Hungary and is all set to offer alternative routes to the passengers who were flying with Centralwings from the UK, Germany and France to Poland.
Centralwings recently cancelled their flights from the Manchester airport to Warsaw and Gdansk. Soon after, Wizz Air announced its alternative flights to these Polish cities from Liverpool. The fares range from £22.99 one way, inclusive of all taxes. Also, as a good alternative to Centralwings’ flights from Birmingham airport to Krakow, Wizz Air has begun flights from the Coventry airport to the Katowice for as low as £22.99.
For the flights operating from Ireland to Poland, Wizz Air is flying to Gdansk Airport from Cork Airport instead of the Centralwings flights to Gdansk from the Shannon airport. The Cork to Katowice flights work as a great substitute for the Centralwings Cork to Kralow flights.
Wizz Air is considered to be the biggest low budget airline in Poland with as much as 35 per cent of the market share in the year 2007. The airline boasts of an impressive fleet of aircrafts such as the Airbus A320s that have around 180 leather seats. Wizz Air that was launched in the year 2004, has seven operating bases today in Romania, Poland, Bulgaria and Hungary. An eighth operating base will be inaugurated in the month of May this year. The airline now has over 70 different routes over Europe in its kitty.
