Wizz Air wins first place
Posted on: April 10th, 2008 by Frank ToddWizz Air, the Hungarian discount carrier, has been deemed to be the “best” discount airline currently operating in Poland, by readers of www.pasazer.com, a prominent Polish travel website. Most respondents seemed to be especially satisfied with Wizz Air’s extensive network of destinations throughout continental Europe and the United Kingdom, as well as with the carrier’s reputation for some of the lowest prices in the air travel industry. Other respondents also noted that they were pleased with the quality of customer service at Wizz Air. One quarter of all survey participants listed Wizz as Poland’s “best” discount carrier; as such, the company was selected by a larger chunk of respondents than any other airline.
In addition to the endorsement received by the readers of www.pazaser.com, Wizz Air also earned high marks from TNS OBOP, a research organization based in Poland. According to this survey, Wizz Air stands in first place when it comes to affordable travel and friendly service on the part of the carrier’s frontline staff. In recognition of Wizz Air’s popularity among Poles, the organization awarded the carrier the “Gold Standard” prize.
Wizz Air is a major player in Poland and is said to control just over 35 percent of the discount air travel market in this East/Central European country. Wizz Air is also the largest low-cost airline to operate a hub at Budapest’s Ferihegy International Airport, and also maintains a prominent presence in Romania and Bulgaria, as well as at ten airports in the United Kingdom, including Luton, Stansted, Bournemouth and Glasgow. Wizz Air was established in 2003 and is headquartered in Vecsés, Hungary. The carrier operates a fleet of 17 airplanes.
