World Travel Market opened by London Mayor

The annual World Travel Market that is held in London was this year opened by the Lord Mayor of London, Boris Johnson. The four-day event is held at the Excel Centre close to London City Airport. It is a great time for businesses to make new connections as they come from all over the world for this event. They share valuable work tools and all strive to make travel and tourism easier for the public as well as themselves. As well as new contacts businesses can learn about new products and ways of selling their unique ideas.

In opening the yearly meet of travel firms Mr Johnson made his own travel pitch about the up and coming London Olympics in 2012. He told of how the £9 billion investment would do so much good for the east of London. According to the Mayor people have been long trying to leave the area, but this long over due touch up should only increase the number of visitors to the city, long after the Olympics have finished. More than 50,000 people are expected to attend the four-day event which finishes tomorrow and hopefully they will all gain some valuable knowledge.

By the time the Olympics make it to the UK there will be some great transport links for East London. Tubes will start becoming air-conditioned, something which is long overdue, the Docklands Light Railways will be vastly improved and have more capacity and roads to and from the area will be a lot more easily accessible.
