Europcar bags coveted international recognition
Posted on: November 17th, 2009 by Martin FellowesThe car rental giant that is Europcar won the title for Europe’s Leading Car Rental Company in Portugal back in October at the regional award ceremony, but they were not content with just that award. Representatives of the firm travelled to London’s Excel Centre earlier this month where the annual World Travel Awards (WTA) were being held and left the glitz and glamour with the title of World’s Leading Car Rental Company. The WTA is to the travel industry what the Oscars are to the Hollywood stars. The award came as extra special as they are voted for by their peers in the travel sector; meaning they have made a lasting impression.
The two massive awards for recognition of their service highlights how well the firm has done during the past 12 months of the economic turn-down. The commitment to customer service has been second to none and both of these awards have strengthened Europcar’s aim to be the best hire car firm in the world. The firm’s global marketing director, Jehan de The, was in London to receive the award and said this latest achievement shows how well they are doing on a global market after picking up similar awards for the Middle East, Africa and Central America.
The car hire company has been striving to improve their business in the past 12 months with new alliances and initiatives. They made themselves available through other tour operators’ websites, which has brought them in new business and put them in the forefront of people’s minds when they are booking holidays.
